   Cavedago, a bear carcass found in the woods

   The carcass of a bear was reported last night by a hiker in the woods of Cavedago: the recovery was dealt with this morning by Trentino Forestry Corps personnel. It is a male plantigrade, presumably 'sub-adult', dead for a few days. The carcass will be handed over to the Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale delle Venezie, which will conduct the necessary investigations, also to establish the animal's identity.
   On the other hand, the news circulating on the web about a dog being attacked by a bear is not confirmed. The latter was reported by the barking of the pet outside a house in Dimaro, but there was no contact.

   Youth volunteering award 'Glanzleistung - Performance of Excellence' edition 2023: Recipients identified

   With a measure proposed by President Maurizio Fugatti, the Provincial Council has identified the recipients (5 individual and 2 group projects) for the Autonomous Province of Trento of the "Glanzleistung - performance of excellence" youth volunteering award 2023 edition. As far as the cross-border project application within the Euregio is concerned, the "Euregio Youth Orchestra" was identified by common agreement between the three territories that are part of it. 'Youth volunteering,' emphasises President Fugatti, 'is a heritage to be valued for the great impact it has on the community. With this initiative, which today has a Euroregional respire, we want to recognise the great commitment of many of our young people who also represent an example for their peers'.

    Bears, Autonomous Management Plan: Technical Commission appointed

    The Provincial Council today appointed a technical advisory commission to define the contents of an autonomous bear management plan in Trentino. The aim is to revise the Pacobace (Interregional Action Plan for the Conservation of Brown Bears in the Central-Eastern Alps), to highlight aspects that would allow a revision of the Habitats Directive at European level and the setting of an upper limit for the bear population in the province on ecological, social, economic and safety grounds. This was explained at a press conference by Province President Maurizio Fugatti and Provincial Councillor for Agriculture, Forestry, Hunting and Fisheries Giulia Zanotelli.
