Description

Institutional accreditation is the measure, issued by the Province, with which private facilities, already authorised, are granted the status of potential providers of healthcare services within and on behalf of the Provincial Health Service - SSP, subject to their compliance with the additional qualification requirements, their functionality with respect to the provincial planning guidelines and the positive verification of the activities carried out and the results achieved, as indicated by art. 8 quater of legislative decree no. 502 of 30 December 1992.

Institutional accreditation is therefore a necessary condition for all those who, whether public or private entities, intend to provide the services of the public health service.

Accreditation is a compulsory pathway for public facilities; it is, on the other hand, optional and voluntary for private subjects who, however, if they lack accreditation, cannot provide services in agreement with the SSP.
