The provincial councillor for health, social policies and cooperation, Mario Tonina, visited Trento's Punto d'Incontro in the early afternoon today, Thursday 30 November.
The councillor was welcomed by the director of the organisation founded by Don Dante Clauser, Mattia Civico, and also met with the president, Osvaldo Filosi, and Dr Pierluigi Torboli, former head of the First Aid Unit of Trento's Santa Chiara hospital and volunteer doctor of the organisation.
"Starting from the intuition of its founder, Punto d'Incontro has been able to grow and become a central and indispensable structure in the provision of social and welfare services to the homeless people who gravitate to the city of Trento,' Tonina says. An activity that is not just limited to the distribution of hundreds of hot meals a day or to job placement in the carpentry workshop, but which also guarantees very important initial health and psychological assistance, providing a fundamental first intake for people who would otherwise struggle to access this type of service'.
