Provincial health system, three-year training plan approved

With a measure proposed by Councillor Mario Tonina, responsible for health matters, the Provincial Council has approved the three-year training plan for provincial health system operators (1 October 2023 - 30 September 2026). The three-year plan for the training of health system operators is a fundamental planning tool: in it there are interventions to be implemented to meet the needs for qualified personnel, professional enrichment, updating, retraining and reconversion of personnel, in relation to the provincial health context and planning documents. The plan, which has been positively evaluated by the Provincial Health Council, in fact represents the programming document of the training activities that are to be carried out in the period of reference with the aim of both enhancing professionalism in the health and social-health sectors, in a multi-professional system, and of better responding to the health needs of the population and guaranteeing the functionality of the provincial health system.
"Acknowledging the indications of the Provincial Health Council,' says Councillor Tonina, 'I asked for the text to be integrated, envisaging the activation of orientation moments in secondary schools in order to make young people loyal to the health professions, and recognising a higher remuneration for those who carry out teaching activities in the nursing degree course, taking into account the commitment required of them due to the high number of students involved. An efficient healthcare service that is able to meet the needs of the community,' the councillor adds, 'cannot disregard the training of the professionals and operators who are fundamental to guaranteeing its services. This is why considerable resources are being invested for a challenging objective that also confirms the importance attributed in Trentino to a sector that is fundamental for the quality of life. The possibility of receiving adequate training is also one of the elements on which the ability of our health system to be attractive is based, an absolutely relevant issue today'.

Snow above 1,500 metres from Thursday evening: consult avalanche bulletin

Snow is coming back to the mountains, but it is sparing the valley floors. From the evening of Thursday 21 to the evening of Saturday 23 December, flakes will fall mainly on the northern sectors above 1,500 and 1,800 metres. According to Meteotrentino's forecasts, the accumulations will be very uneven due to the action of the boast and at the highest altitudes, they could be between 10 and 30 centimetres. The Alps, like a dam, usually confine the most abundant precipitation - when this is pushed by north-westerly currents - to the northern side, while on the Italian side there will be no or very little precipitation. Exceptions are the areas near the border ridge, where up to half a metre of snow may fall. It is recommended to consult the Euregio avalanche bulletin - issued by the Civil Defence, Risk Prevention Service and CUE - before planning outings to higher altitudes.

Autonomy, Fugatti: 'Within six months the proposal on the new statute'

'I express my satisfaction with the outcome of the meeting in which the foundations were laid for a real revision of our Statute'. These were the first words of the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento Maurizio Fugatti at the end of the first meeting between the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies Roberto Calderoli, the Region of Trentino - Alto Adige/ Südtirol and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano with the aim of launching the table for the reform of the Statute of Autonomy of the Region and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano.
"Our Constitution, the Statute of Autonomy, is not an immodifiable 'paper'," continued Fugatti, "but a dynamic container that today needs 'extraordinary maintenance' to adapt it to the changed European and national legal framework, so that the competences gained at the time of its first approval can be fully exercised according to today's needs, to the benefit of the entire Trentino community.
"Within six months, we will present a document on the new Statute, which will be drafted by a technical group of representatives of the government and the regions, which will have to contain in particular the principle of the agreement, which was already discussed in the past,' the president concluded, 'and the restoration of the primary competences of our special autonomies, which over the years have gradually weakened, also due to the pronouncements of the Constitutional Court.

Tonina on the challenges of the health service: 'Ensuring answers for citizens by leveraging autonomy

"I would like to share with you some thoughts on the role of the provincial health service and the prospects that await us in the near future. We know that the problems are many and complex: alongside the shortage of professionals, there is the growth in the cost of the provincial health service as a result of the increase in chronic illnesses. Then there is the role of the accredited private sector and that of private facilities, not to mention the many restructuring and upgrading operations on the building stock, including the crucial area of the RSAs and non-self-sufficiency. The challenges are indeed many, but I want to assure you that I will be at your side, that I will listen to you, that I will try where possible to find answers, perhaps pursuing new avenues that leverage our special Autonomy: we have a responsibility as administrators, we must manage our autonomy as best we can, we must distinguish ourselves, be a model for other regions, give our best for our citizens'. This was how the provincial councillor for health, social policies and cooperation Mario Tonina spoke at the press conference on public health held this morning at Palazzo Geremia in Trento to mark the forty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of the National Health Service.
Mayor Franco Ianeselli, the presidents of the Order of Physicians, Surgeons and Dentists of the Province of Trento Marco Ioppi and of the Order of Nursing Professions Daniel Pedrotti, the president of the Provincial Council for Health Renzo Dori, and the president of the Italian League for the Fight against Tumours (LILT) Mario Cristofolini also made their contributions. Also present was the general director of the provincial health services agency Antonio Ferro.

Weather, strong wind gusts and snowfall in northern areas in the coming days

From the evening of tomorrow, Thursday 21, to the evening of Saturday 23 December, very strong north-westerly winds will blow, especially in the mountains. The most intense gusts are expected between the central hours of Friday and the central hours of Saturday, when in the most exposed areas they may exceed 120 km/h. In the valleys, the forecast is more uncertain, but in those facing northwest-southeast, gusts may exceed 90 km/h. From Saturday evening and Sunday, the winds will tend to ease. Heavy snowfalls are also expected on the northern side of the Alps near the border; in Trentino the snowfalls, in the form of a blizzard, will mainly affect the northern territories, with very uneven accumulations due to the action of the wind.
The Trentino Civil Protection Department urges caution due to possible falling trees, especially at high altitudes, and reminds motorists that from 15 November winter equipment (snow tyres or chains on board) is compulsory.
