With a measure proposed by Councillor Mattia Gottardi, who is responsible for emigration matters, the Provincial Council confirmed the councillors in office until 31 October 2026. The councillors had been appointed in October 2021 for a term of office that, according to the regulations currently in force, expired at the end of the last legislature. The rules currently in force, however, stipulate that counsellors may remain in office for up to a maximum of five years; with the measure adopted, the term of office has been adjusted.
"Thanks to the collaboration of the counsellors,' emphasises Councillor Gottardi, 'the Province implements interventions throughout the world in favour of Trentino citizens or their descendants living abroad. They ensure a presence and collaboration in various territorial areas that is indispensable to give substance to the initiatives that are implemented. Theirs is therefore an important role that requires competence and knowledge of the social fabric of reference to be exercised. By confirming their appointments, the Council acknowledges the important work that the current counsellors are doing and confirms its full trust and appreciation for them'.
