Tomorrow is the Day of Remembrance, established in 2004 to commemorate the tragedy of Italians and all the victims of the foibe and the Giuliano-Dalmatian exodus. Numerous events have been promoted in the area, including those organised by the Associazione nazionale Venezia Giulia e Dalmazia, provincial committee of Trento, in collaboration with the Province, the Historical Museum Foundation and the municipalities of Trento and Rovereto. It begins today with a prologue that will see, at 5.30 p.m., the laying of a wreath at the sign in Via Vittime delle Foibe.
In Rovereto tomorrow at 10 a.m. there will be a mass in the Church of Santa Caterina, while at 11 a.m. a wreath will be laid at the memorial plaque in Largo Vittime delle Foibe, with the participation of the authorities and a representative of the exiles. Also tomorrow in Trento at 4 p.m. there will be a wreath-laying at the memorial plaque placed in the redeveloped area of Largo Pigarelli, while at 5 p.m. the official ceremony will be held in the Municipality's reception hall, in Palazzo Geremia in Via Belenzani.
