With regard to the latest episode of violence against medical and health personnel, Provincial Councillor for Health, Social Policies and Cooperation Mario Tonina, in agreement with President Maurizio Fugatti, confirms his intention to investigate the issue with the aim of activating all available instruments to protect operators and patients.
'We agree with the concerns expressed by the professionals' representatives. Incidents of violence against women and men engaged in guaranteeing the health of citizens in our health facilities are not acceptable,' Tonina comments. 'It is a phenomenon on which the Province intends to make a precise commitment, evaluating all the actions that can be put in place to stem this drift. In agreement with President Fugatti,' Tonina continues, 'we intend to bring the issue to the attention of the Committee for Public Order and Security, as has already happened with similar events, such as assaults on public transport vehicles or house burglaries.
"At the same time," adds the councillor, "I will immediately give further indications to Apss in order to take action within its competence.
