Since the early hours of this morning, work has been underway to assemble and lay the temporary bridge over the Caffaro river, on the border between the provinces of Trento and Brescia, along the SPBS 237, which becomes the SS 237 in the section in the province of Trento. This work is necessary in order to allow the restoration, consolidation and widening of the existing historical bridge to be carried out later, so as to better adapt and upgrade the infrastructure that ensures one of the strategic links between Trentino and Lombardy. In the past few days, the construction of the bridge abutments on micropiles driven into the riverbed was completed, while the prefabricated elements are now being installed. The operations are proceeding according to schedule, assembling the various parts of the bridge, starting with the beams, with the help of a special crane that arrived from Turin. Once the assembly work is complete, it will be possible to continue with the construction of the slab. Load tests will take place on Wednesday, 10 April, and the road will be open towards the end of April.
An intervention - made possible by the synergy between the provincial administrations of Trento and Brescia, and by the financing of more than 900,000 euro from the Trentino entity itself - was welcomed with satisfaction by the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento, Maurizio Fugatti, who pointed out that inter-institutional cooperation between territories always qualifies as a responsible exercise of Autonomy, considering mobility as a right of all citizens.
