    Differentiated autonomy, visions compared

While the bill on differentiated autonomy is being debated in the Chamber of Deputies, at the Festival dell'Economia Emilia Patta, journalist for Il Sole 24 Ore, spoke with the President of the Autonomous Province of Trento and the President of the Region of Tuscany. Two very different perspectives - an Autonomous Province and an Ordinary Region - for an issue that does not directly affect Trentino, but with respect to which the Province has in any case set up a parallel path with the State. A convergence emerged from the dialogue at the Palazzo della Provincia on the importance of the self-government of the territories, but there were different evaluations of the system currently being examined by Parliament.

Sole 24 Ore generational Quality of Life indices, at the Trento Festival of Economics the data presentation

Sondrio for children, Gorizia for young people and Trento for the elderly. It is these three Italian provinces that guarantee a better quality of life for their respective age groups. The Quality of Life of Children, Young People and the Elderly, now in its fourth edition, was previewed today at the Trento Festival dell'Economia and the full results will be published in Il Sole 24 Ore on Monday 27 May: the rankings - each based on 12 indicators from certified sources (Istat, Ministry of the Interior, Infocamere, Iqvia) - measure the 'responses' of the territories to the specific needs of the three most fragile and at the same time strategic generational targets, the services provided to them and their living and health conditions. All three indices will feed into the 35th edition of the Sole 24 Ore Quality of Life survey at the end of the year.

    Disability Reform, a revolution

The reform on disability represents a real revolution, but in order to work it needs a systemic vision capable of overcoming the fragmentation of interventions and an authentic synergy among all the actors involved at a central and territorial level. At the centre of the debate, at the Festival of Economics, is the organic reform of the system of recognition of the condition of disability, of support for independent living, and of the measures for the protection and promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities, which will come into force through an experimental process starting in January 2025 in 9 provinces. The discussion on the novelties of this reform took place at the Regional Palace with the moderation of Monica D'Ascenzo, journalist for Il Sole 24 Ore.

Climate change, catastrophic risks and insurance

Climate change and the resulting risks of catastrophes also have an impact on the insurance system: This was discussed this afternoon on the last day of the Trento Festival of Economics, with Alessandro Molinari , Managing Director and General Manager of Itas Mutua, Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, Commander of COVI, Summit Command of the Italian Defence Interforce Operational Area, and Maria Chiara Zaganelli, General Manager of ISMEA, Institute of Services for the Agricultural Food Market, moderated by Laura Galvagni, Journalist of 'Il Sole 24 Ore'.
The topic is highly topical considering that, according to some estimates, the impact of climate change could cost up to 12% of GDP. This shows how important the issue of catastrophic risks is. Italy, for its part, is a country where seismic and hydrogeological risks are known to be very present. On the one hand, therefore, action must be stepped up on the forecasting and prevention fronts; on the other, the development of a broad and widespread insurance culture is fundamental, particularly, as far as today's panel is concerned, in the agricultural sector.
