A further step forward towards the development of telemedicine in Trentino: with the measure approved today by the Provincial Council, on the recommendation of Health and Social Policies Councillor Mario Tonina, 4,372,839 euro have been released within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan, Mission 6, Component 1. This is a specific investment for the development of telemedicine in the national territory, which in Trentino is implemented in the Operational Plan approved last year. "Thanks to the PNRR resources,' comments Councillor Tonina, 'we aim to implement telemedicine services in the provincial territory in the areas envisaged by the relevant national guidelines, i.e. diabetology, cardiology, pneumology, oncology and neurology. The aim is to improve access to services and make healthcare closer to the people: in this sense, telemedicine is a useful support to improve the assistance offered to people with chronic diseases, to support us in monitoring health conditions, especially of the elderly, and, in the future, it can help us face one of the strongest challenges ahead, that of the ageing population with the consequent increase in chronic diseases,' Tonina concludes.
