The Autonomous Province of Trento, through the Industry, Research and Mining Service, with the support of the Geological Service, will collaborate for two years with the Department of Geosciences of the University of Padua to carry out a cognitive study on the distribution and consistency of critical raw materials in the provincial territory. The collaboration agreement was approved by the Provincial Council with a measure proposed by the Councillor for Economic Development, Labour, University and Research Achille Spinelli.
'The results of the study,' explains Councillor Spinelli, 'will be made available to ISPRA. It is an activity aimed at verifying the actual presence and consistency of any critical raw materials on Trentino territory, which is necessary to go beyond the current knowledge based on historical data that are dated; it is all still to be investigated in terms of real consistency and environmental sustainability. It is important to proceed with caution in what, I repeat, is currently only a cognitive activity. For us, concern for the territory remains a priority'.
