After the summer break and the concerts in the castles of 'Musica con Vista', the 2024 Concert Season of the Trento Philharmonic Society resumes, with eight important appointments in which the notes of the world's best musicians and chamber ensembles will once again fill the hall in Via Verdi.
To open the festival, on Tuesday 8 October, at 8 pm, one of the world's leading vocal ensembles: The Tenebrae Choir.
Described as "phenomenal" (Times) and "devastatingly beautiful" (Gramophone Magazine), the award-winning choir, under the direction of Nigel Short, former member of the King's Singers, has been performing at major festivals and stages around the world since 2001, including BBC Proms, Wigmore Hall, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Sydney Festival.
His repertoire ranges from Renaissance masterpieces to contemporary music, with numerous world premieres and a special focus on programmes, always aimed at communicating to the audience an experience of the highest emotional quality. Thanks to an important discography for labels such as Decca, Deutsche Grammophon, EMI and Warner Classics, he has gained major international recognition, including a recent Grammy Award nomination.
