The Provincial Council approved a resolution extending access to supplementary social security aid for farmers in disadvantaged areas. In particular, access to contributions has been extended to all livestock species, overcoming the limit of 2.5 livestock units for cattle, pigs, sheep and goats. In place of this limit, a new parameter based on 500 hours of work was introduced, thus guaranteeing greater equity in access to benefits and a special focus on mountain agriculture, as well as on the resilience and adaptability of farms. In addition, the deadline for submitting applications for subsidies has been brought forward to July, compared to the previous deadline of December. The same advance to July also applies to the annual applications to support the compulsory social security payments of farmers, sharecroppers and colonists (IVS). The method of submitting applications remains unchanged: they are sent to the Provincial Agency for Supplementary Assistance and Welfare (APAPI) via a trusted patronage organisation.
