The April issue of the magazine "Archeo - Actuality of the past" dedicates the cover and an extensive article to the pile dwellings of Fiavé, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a special focus on the Archeo Natura Park and Museum.
"Trentino, a park for the pile dwellings" is the title on the cover of the magazine, which is the launching page for the 12-page feature on the archaeological site of Fiavé. The article, accompanied by numerous pictures, offers an all-round overview of the archaeological site that holds the remains of one of the most important pile-dwelling settlements known to date. Particular emphasis is placed on the creation of the Archaeo-Nature Park, an innovative project, realised and managed by the UMSt Soprintendenza per i beni e le attività culturali provinciale, which, together with the nearby Museum, has contributed to the enhancement of the site, recounting the ingenuity of the ancient pile-dwelling inhabitants. In addition to tracing the history of the research, from the first reports in the mid-19th century to the present day, the main phases of the site's occupation, from the 7th millennium B.C. to the 13th century B.C., are traced, and the evolution of construction techniques is described. The article also casts a wide-ranging glance at the Park's visitor routes with its life-size reconstructions of the huts and the museum, which re-proposes corners of daily life in Bronze Age villages and displays the extraordinary finds discovered in the Fiavé peat bog during archaeological research.
