History of the Special Autonomy of Trentino - South Tyrol

At the origins of our Autonomy lies a centuries-old history, made up of complex events, traditions, civic customs, and rules that communities have given themselves and jealously preserved in spite of political and social upheavals. This is where the Trentino people's aptitude for self-government, for doing their own thing, stems from: without any selfish closure, moreover, but always maintaining the capacity for dialogue with everything outside their borders, from the neighbouring regions to the government in Rome and the European Union.

Mori, the junction connecting the SP90 Destra Adige with the SS240 southbound is closed

The Road Management Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento reports the closure of the junction that connects the SP90 Destra Adige to the SS240 southbound - in the municipality of Mori due to the flooding of the carriageway following the rainfall that affected the area. The alternating one-way traffic direction along the SP79 del Brocon road, which was triggered yesterday afternoon due to the collapse of a dry stone retaining wall at km 17+200, is also confirmed.
We renew our call for the utmost caution when travelling, especially along the mountain roads.

Hunting, the 2025-2026 hunting season starts on 7 September

The 2025-2026 hunting season in Trentino will officially start on Sunday 7 September, one hour before dawn. The Provincial Council, at the proposal of the councillor in charge of forestry, hunting and fishing, has approved, with two separate resolutions, the hunting calendar and other technical prescriptions for hunters' activities in the province. The first of the two measures defines in detail the limitations regarding the species that can be hunted, the periods, days and times allowed, taking into account the specific biological phases that characterise the various wild animal species. Both documents, in their preliminary version, were previously submitted to the Provincial Wildlife Observatory, to the Superior Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Ispra) and to the Trentino Hunters' Association, in its capacity as hunting management body.
