Description

EURES service for looking for work abroad

If you are interested in working abroad, there is a European mobility support service called EURES (European Employment Services) at the Employment Centres of Agenzia del Lavoro. EURES is an EU labour market information and guidance network set up to facilitate the geographical and professional mobility of workers.

EURES offers the following services

  • information and guidance on job opportunities on the EURES portal
  • information on living and working conditions in the different European countries
  • support for job search by providing useful addresses and information on search techniques used in the different countries
  • advice and support for procedures to be activated when leaving and returning from a job abroad, including the possibility of benefiting from financial support from the TMS programme (see below).

Other programmes supporting labour mobility in Europe

  • EURES Targeted Mobility Scheme (TMS)
This is an EU mobility scheme that helps people who wish to undertake a work experience, traineeship or apprenticeship in another EU country plus Norway and Iceland, and assists employers who are looking for professionals with different profiles in the European market.
    It is aimed at:
    - jobseekers with at least 18 years of age, citizenship and/or legal residence (including long-term resident status) of one of the EU Member States/Iceland/Norway.
    - companies or organisations legally established in one of the EU Member States or in Iceland or Norway.
In particular, the programme offers financial support for attending a job interview abroad, for relocation costs, language training and recognition of qualifications to start a job/apprenticeship lasting at least 6 months or an internship of at least 3 months.
    See the projectwebsite
  • Eurodyssey (currently suspended in Trentino)
The Eurodyssey programme in Trentino is currently suspended (both incoming and outgoing) until a date to be determined.
Eurodyssey is an international exchange programme which provides an internship experience in another European country lasting between 3 and 6 months. The project is promoted by the AER (Assembly of European Regions) and aims at increasing the professional skills of the participants, improving their chances of finding employment at the end of the project and expanding the cultural horizons of young Europeans. It is aimed at young people resident in Trentino aged between 18 and 35.
