Updating technical data in the vehicle registration document without testing

The following modifications fall within the scope of application of Ministerial Decree 08.01.2021 and subsequent updates

1. replacement of the LPG tank of the bifuel or monofuel fuel system;

2. installation or removal of the tow hook on vehicles of international categories M1 and N1;

3. installation for replacement of trailer ball couplings;

4. installation or removal of dual controls for vehicles to be used for driving exercises and tests;

5. installation or removal of the following adaptations for driving vehicles by disabled drivers:

• steering wheel knob;
• service control unit;
• reversing the accelerator/brake pedals in the mirror configuration of the original one;
• shifting of service control levers (lights, windscreen wipers, etc.);
• wide-angle interior rear-view mirror;
• additional rear-view mirror;

6. installation of wheel system;

7. installation of mechanical coupling parts not suitable for towing on vehicles of international categories M1 and N1;

8. installation of glass partitions or glazing on international M2 and M3 vehicles of classes A, I and II intended for regular public transport.

In order to carry out modifications to the above technical characteristics, it is necessary to contact workshops accredited by the Civil Motor Vehicle Authority of Trento.

For the changes under points 1, 2, 4, 5, it is also possible to apply for this update at consulting firms(click here for list of agencies)

For points 3, 6, 7, 8 the competence for updating the vehicle registration document lies exclusively with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency. Please contact the inspections counter without appointment (Mon-Fri 8.30-12.30).

• T004 (Various updates without duplicate issue).

The reference forms to be submitted to the Civil Vehicle Registration Authority are as follows:

• Form TT2119 - Application for Motor Vehicle Operations;
• Substitute declaration for private individuals/companies;
• registration certificate in original or copy
• declaration issued by theworkshop relating to the requested modification (with all relevant technical documentation). See "forms" section below;
• receipts for payments made through PAGOPA.
