What is SBRB
The project aims to develop a conscious civic awareness among high school students, offering them concrete experiences of confrontation and collaboration in a rich multicultural and multilingual context. It promotes the development of active citizenship, the in-depth study of topics of common interest, the exchange of high-quality teaching materials and the mobility of students and teachers from different backgrounds. Now in its fourth year of activity, SBRB is now a network of 32 schools from 12 different European countries, which is also keen to promote synergies between universities and national and local institutions. See the video recounting the project's activities from 2021 to 2023: https://youtu.be/8TuCYNMOiCY (EN) https://youtu.be/wtu3TvDH_fg (DE) https://youtu.be/ulb9q7d-CuY (EN)
How SBRB works
Our activities include a series of afternoon webinars on different topics related to citizenship education, such as EU institutions and policies, the challenges of Agenda 2030, struggles for autonomy and independence, the state of democracy in Europe, milestones in European history after 1989, hate speech, food and sustainability, cooperation and Generation Z. After participating in the webinars, students explore the topics in depth both in class and in transnational collaborative projects. In addition, an in-presence event takes place in Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol every year in May, during which students meet, participate in thematic workshops and present their work.
International awards: the Assembly of European Regions awarded the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol Region the MYFER award(Most Youth-Friendly European Region) award thanks to its project activities. See video: https://youtu.be/CWc1bJEjnQI
