Selection for a collaborative project manager position

The collaborator will be mainly involved in the on-site operational coordination of TERRA, a three-year international cooperation project aimed at promoting a conscious and sustainable management of solid urban waste in the city of Beira (Mozambique), through a partnership between public bodies, universities and private sector actors: University of Trento, Municipality of Beira (Mozambique), Zambeze University (Mozambique), Consortium Associations with Mozambique ETS (CAM) and Bio Energia Trentino srl.

The selected figure will be responsible for coordinating the project activities in the field, taking care independently of the planning, implementation and monitoring of the planned actions, in constant liaison with the lead partner (PAT) and with local and international partners.

The contract is for self-employment for an expected duration of 24 months with the possibility of renewal until the operational and/or administrative conclusion of the project (for a maximum of a further 12 months). The service envisages the presence in Mozambique, in the city of Beira, for a minimum of 5 months per year, of which 3 months continuous and 2 months divisible, at the CAM headquarters (NGO partner on site). For the remaining period, the location of the activity will be agreed upon between the parties, including the possibility of working at the offices of the PAT's International Partnerships and Interventions Abroad Office, in Trento.

If the selected candidate is already resident in Mozambique, the work may be carried out entirely in the country, without the need to be present at the Trento office.

The candidate must already have a VAT number or be willing to open one in case of collaboration.

Entry requirements

• Italian citizenship, or citizenship of a state belonging to the European Union, or citizenship of a non-EU country and be in one of the conditions set out in Article 38 of Legislative Decree no. 165/2001
• enjoyment of civil and political rights
• good knowledge of the Italian language (written and oral);
• have not been convicted of any criminal offence or been the subject of any measure entered in the criminal record, and have no pending charges, criminal proceedings or proceedings for the application of security or prevention measures, including those that may be entered pursuant to Presidential Decree no. 313 of 14 November 2002
• do not find themselves in situations of ineligibility or incompatibility as provided for by Articles 39 septies, paragraph 3, and 39 novies of the Provincial Law of 19 July 1990, no. 23, as well as by Article 53 bis of the Provincial Law of 3 April 1997, no. 7 or, if a situation of incompatibility exists, to be willing to remove it promptly
• not be in conflict of interest with the Autonomous Province of Trento and with respect to the position referred to in this notice
• not having exercised, in the last three years of service as an employee or holder of positions in public administrations, authoritative or negotiating powers on behalf of the same public administrations of which the Autonomous Province of Trento was the recipient;
• Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or Master's degree (new system) or Diploma (old system); for candidates holding a qualification obtained abroad, admission to the selection is subject to the recognition of the qualification possessed with the qualification required for access, in accordance with the regulations in force;
• have adequate knowledge of English and Portuguese, corresponding to minimum level B2 (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages)
• Possession of a category 'B' driving licence;
• experience in international cooperation projects.
