Description

This grant is intended for young athletes who have been resident in the province of Trento for at least three years and who have distinguished themselves through sporting and academic achievement during the most recent academic year completed at the time of application, with the aim of contributing towards their education and training costs.

The amount of the scholarship is set at 1,500 euros and is paid in a single instalment. The scholarship may be combined with other grants, scholarships or free places in boarding schools and residential colleges awarded by the Province or by other public bodies or institutions for different purposes.

Results achieved in the following events are not taken into account:
a) memorial events, tournaments, trophies or circuits;
b) gatherings, including preparatory ones;
c) city championships;
d) training camps;
e) friendly matches;

Results achieved at meetings are only taken into account if they relate to a competition specifically designated for the awarding of an Italian championship title in a particular category or an overall individual or team title.

Young student-athletes who, at the time of submitting their application:

  1. have completed a school year in the second cycle of education or training at public or state-recognised schools and training institutions;
  2. have been resident in the province of Trento for at least three years;
  3. have passed the academic year without any subject failures, with an average mark of 7.50 or above, or seven tenths in the case of student-athletes with an intellectual disability (excluding the mark for religious education and marks for alternative/optional subjects such as practical workshops, work placements, etc.) or have successfully completed their school or training programme in the year of application with a mark of 75/100 or higher, or 70/100 if they are a student-athlete with an intellectual disability. In the case of academic assessments expressed using different grading scales, the results achieved will be proportionally converted into the corresponding decimal or centesimal values in accordance with the provisions of school regulations;
  4. they are registered with an amateur sports association or club affiliated to a national sports federation or to an associated sport recognised by CONI or CIP, or they are registered with a professional sports association or club affiliated to a national sports federation recognised by CONI or CIP which also carries out amateuramateur activities;
  5. are not professional athletes and do not belong to military sports units by profession;
  6. have achieved ONE of the following sporting results during the relevant school year (the period between 1 September of the previous year and 31 August of the year in which the application is submitted), achieved whilst registered with one of the organisations referred to in point 5 above:
    a) first, second or third place at the European or World Championships (100 points);
    b) selection by the federation for the Italian national team, with participation in at least one of the relevant scheduled competitions (90 points);
    c) first, second or third place in individual competitions held to award the title of Italian champion in a specific category or overall (80 points);
    d) playing for a top-tier amateur side competing in national-level leagues (50 points);
    e) selection by the local branch of the sports federation for the provincial and/or regional representative team and participation in at least one of the competitions scheduled for the awarding of an Italian title in a specific category or as an overall champion (50 points);
    f) first place in the provincial or regional stage of the category, with participation in the national stage of the category (40 points).

The application may be submitted:
a) by a parent or a person exercising parental authority, if the student-athlete is a minor;
b) by the student-athlete themselves, if they are of legal age.
