Provisional driving permit for licence renewal in CML

A driver who is obliged to renew his driving licence at the Local Medical Commission (CML), if he is unable to book the medical examination before the expiry date of the document, may, after having booked the examination, request a provisional driving permit valid until the end of the renewal procedures.

The permit is valid for driving only on Italian territory; it is not recognised abroad.

The permit may only be issued once and is valid until the final outcome of renewal procedures.

The online procedure is only admissible for applying for provisional driving permits linked to medical examinations booked by the Local Medical Commission of Trento. It is not admissible for requesting further extensions to the issue of the first provisional driving permit.

The permit can be applied for by drivers who are obliged to renew their driving licence at the Local Medical Commission (CML) and have failed to book a medical examination before the expiry of the document.

The permit application can be submitted at the driver's licence counter by appointment (via 'digital channels'), or it can be sent to patenti@provincia.tn.it attaching the required documents.

The PAGOPA code is:

• N019 (Stamp Duty).

The documents to be transmitted to patenti@provincia.tn.it are:

• copy of the driving licence
• copy of the letter from the Local Medical Commission of Trento, showing the date of the renewal visit;
• receipt of payment of €16.00.
