Description
Driving licences must be renewed at different expiry dates depending on the category held and the age of the driver. The expiry date is stated on the licence itself.
Renewal consists of an examination to ascertain the physical and psychological requirements for fitness to drive by authorised doctors. In the Province of Trento, the examination may be carried out at the Provincial Agency for Health Services (Azienda Provinciale per i Servizi Sanitari - APSS) or at the offices of driving schools/driving practice agencies where the authorised doctors carry out their activities on a freelance basis.
In the case of particular pathologies or for the renewal of certain licence categories (see below) the medical examination must be carried out at the local medical commission. For all information you may consult the page dedicated to licence renewal in the Local Medical Commission on the APSS website.
