Museums without barriers

Funding is granted for projects that have not yet been implemented and that aim to make the permanent installations and main museum offerings in the area usable by people who are deaf or hard of hearing, with hearing aids or cochlear implants. The activities eligible for funding are

• creation of videos with subtitling or LIS interpreter;
• creation of QR codes providing information on museum contents in different languages;
• installation of audioguide and videoguide systems for people who are deaf or hard of hearing;
• creation of Apps for smartphones and tablets that allow interactive visits to museums, breaking down barriers.

The call for tenders, approved by decision of the Provincial Government no. 390/2024, is part of the activities for the removal of information and communication barriers for access to museums, provided for by decision of the Provincial Government no. 1288/2023

Interministerial funding for the inclusion of deaf and hard of hearing people.

The application can be submitted from 2 April to 2 May 2024.

Museums located in the territory of Trentino, with the exception of the museums of the Province provided for by article 24 of the Provincial Law of 3 October 2007, no. 15, which before submitting the application have entered into an agreement with the Department for Policies in favour of people with disabilities for access to services or goods at reduced rates through the use of the EU Disability Card.

Applications for grants must be submitted to the UMSE Disability and Social and Health Integration Unit of the Autonomous Province of Trento within 30 days of the date of publication of the call for applications on the institutional website, by one of the following methods

• direct delivery to UMSE Disability and Social and Health Integration, Autonomous Province of Trento, via Gilli n. 4, 38121 Trento;
• by mail, by registered letter with return receipt, to UMSE Disabilità ed Integrazione socio-sanitaria, Provincia autonoma di Trento, via Gilli n. 4, 38121 Trento;
• electronically to the certified mailbox umse.disabili_integrasociosan@pec.provincia.tn.it.

In order to participate, museums must submit the following documents

• application form
• information notice pursuant to Articles 13 and 14 of the EU Regulation no. 679 of 2016
• descriptive sheet of the project initiative.
