Master craftsman/professional: conferment of title

In order to become a master craftsman, it is necessary to participate in special training courses aimed both at deepening knowledge of the profession being practised and at giving the future 'master' the ability to pass on what he has learnt to trainees, apprentices and employees of his company, thus favouring the qualification of the craft sector.

The course is organised by the Trento Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture.

Penalties: The use of the title of master craftsman by persons not in possession of the title is punishable by an administrative fine of between 250 and 2,500 euros.

The service is aimed at artisans, entrepreneurs or family employees of enterprises in the sector who have at least three years' experience in this field. Entrepreneurs/employees of craft enterprises obtain the title of master craftsman. Other persons that of master craftsman.

Effective from the day after receipt of notification of the successful completion of the course by the training organisations in charge.

The Province, in cooperation with training organisations and the Chamber of Commerce, runs an average of one to three courses per year. Information on access to these courses is published on the Trento Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Crafts and Agriculture website.

The names of those who successfully attend the course are communicated to the Province, which awards the title of Master Craftsman/Professional Master with an appropriate measure.

Failure on the part of the structure to comply with the procedural deadline allows the interested party to apply to the General Manager of the Department of Crafts, Commerce, Promotion, Sport and Tourism to request the conclusion of the procedure.
