The following may qualify as 'international

  1. major trade fairs, understood as exhibitions of a general nature, not limited to particular categories of products and open to the public;
  2. trade fairs or exhibitions specialised by reason of the products displayed, normally reserved for an audience of specialists or professionals;

if the event with 'national' status has the following characteristics

  • in the last edition it alternatively registered an attendance of:
    • at least 15%, out of the total number of exhibitors, of foreign exhibitors from, alternatively, at least 10 foreign countries or, from at least 5 non-EU countries
    • at least 8% of foreign visitors, out of the total number of visitors;
  • it takes place within an exhibition centre that meets the following suitability requirements
    • presence of functional connection services to reach the exhibition centre
    • availability of outdoor parking facilities;
    • safety of the facilities (equipment and fire-fighting service; criteria for stand fittings; unification of the requirements for exhibitors in terms of safety; security service; heating, ventilation, lighting systems);
    • conference halls;
    • travel and hotel reservations;
    • telecommunications service and computer connections;
    • banking services;
    • catering services;
    • press services;
    • first aid;
    • public order;
    • forwarding agent;
    • business centre (general information service; reception centre for operators and delegations; import-export information service; assistance for foreign operators; interpreting; business contacts; questions and offers)
    • information service (list of exhibitors by: product sector, commercial interest, origin, conference programme and side events; press, personal card);
