From 1 January 2026, businesses’ access to provincial grants and subsidies will be conditional upon taking out an insurance policy to cover damage caused by natural disasters and catastrophic events, covering the assets specified in Article 1, paragraph 101 of Law 213/2023, implemented at provincial level by Provincial Council Resolution No. 2114 of 19 December 2025.

The policy must be in force at the time of the grant application and maintained for the entire duration of the project.

Failure to comply with the insurance requirement may, where necessary, result in the application being rejected or the total forfeiture of the grant.

For further details, please refer to the aforementioned resolution, available at the bottom of the page in the ‘Documents’ section.

Description

With a view to promoting and enhancing the status of craftsmanship, the Province awards grants covering between 30% and 80% of eligible expenditure for the implementation of initiatives of provincial interest that are of significant professional, cultural or educational importance, and, in particular, for the following types of initiatives:

  1. “crafts”:events or initiatives that enhance and promote Trentino’s craft sector, craft businesses and Trentino craft products, or which aim to raise awareness across the province of issues relating to craft professions – including contemporary or innovative aspects – that characterise the world of craftsmanship;
  2. “young people”: initiatives aimed at young people, focusing on promotion, introducing them to craft professions or training;
  3. “mixed”: initiatives that combine both of the above characteristics.

The percentage of funding is determined by the overall score awarded to the initiative, in accordance with the parameters set out in the current criteria, which must be 11 points or higher.

These grants, awarded under the ‘de minimis’ rule, cannot be combined with other grants awarded by the Province covering the same expenses within the same initiative. They may, however, be combined with direct funding awarded by the Province relating to the initiative in general.

Expenditure directly related to the proposed initiative is eligible; if these expenses also relate to other activities, in particular those normally carried out by the applicant or to initiatives other than the one proposed, they must be apportioned between the initiative covered by the application and the other activities or initiatives, and only the portion relating to the project may be eligible for funding.

In the case of initiatives that do not relate solely to craft activities, only the specifically ‘craft-related’ part shall be taken into account.

N.B.: The following text does not replace the provisions set out in Provincial Council Resolution No. 988 of 11 July 2025, reproduced below, to which reference should be made for all purposes.

Restrictions

Non-craft businesses and consortia of non-craft businesses are not eligible for the grant.

A maximum of three applications submitted by the same applicant per calendar year may be eligible for the grant.

Beneficiaries of the grant must publicly highlight, in the promotional material relating to the funded initiatives, the support of the Autonomous Province of Trento, expressly stating the phrase:“Initiative carried out with the financial support of the Autonomous Province of Trento”. Failure to do so will result in the grant being reduced by 5% at the time of payment.

Any change to the date on which the initiative is to take place must be notified in advance to the provincial department responsible for craft industries, in order to allow for the necessary checks to be carried out. In the absence of such notification, the grant will be reduced by 5% at the time of payment.

Who it's for

The following are eligible to apply for a grant:

  •  craft businesses and their consortia
  •  non-profit organisations and associations

which carry out initiatives involving the participation of at least three craft enterprises registered in the trade register and having their registered office or operational headquarters within the province, understood as a facility capable of producing goods and services.

Timeframes and deadlines

Applications may be submitted at any time of the year, provided they are submitted before the start date of the initiative.

60 days

Maximum no. of waiting days

with effect from the day following receipt of the application.

The relevant body will process applications in the chronological order in which they are submitted. Once the application has been processed, a decision will be made on eligibility for the scheme and the award of the grant.

Within 60 days, a decision will be made either to grant eligibility for the scheme and subsequently award the grant, subject to the availability of funds, or to refuse eligibility. The grant is awarded for the calendar year in which the initiative is carried out. Where funds are insufficient, the 60-day deadline refers to the decision on eligibility.

For beneficiaries who have been admitted but excluded from receiving the grant, should further resources become available during the financial year of admission, the grant shall be awarded subject to verification of the beneficiary’s interest and, where applicable, the setting of a new date for the implementation of the initiative, within 30 days of such verification.

Applications that have been approved but not funded during the year of submission shall lapse.

The applicant will be notified of the outcome of the procedure via certified email (PEC).

Information on the status of the procedure can be obtained from the relevant office (contact details are provided in this information sheet).

Failure by the relevant body to meet the deadline for the procedure may entitle the applicant to contact the Director-General of the Department of Crafts, Trade, Promotion, Sport and Tourism to urge the conclusion of the procedure.

Following notification of the grant award, the beneficiary must submit the declaration for the purposes of payment (or any extension or advance) within six months from the day following the last day of the subsidised initiative.
