Grants for sports sponsorship

This is a grant awarded to businesses, self-employed individuals and non-commercial organisations based in the province of Trento that invest in advertising campaigns in support of professional and/or amateur sports associations and clubs affiliated to sports federations, to associated sports disciplines and to sports promotion bodies recognised by CONI or CIP, operating in the amateur sector, with their headquarters in the province of Trento and which carry out youth sports activities on an ongoing basis within the province.

The grant covers 50 per cent of the investment, up to a maximum of 5,000 euros, and cannot be combined with other financial assistance granted for the same purpose under provincial, national or European regulations. In any case, the investment must not be less than 4,000 euros.

If the available funds are insufficient to fully finance all eligible applications, the funds will be allocated proportionally amongst all beneficiaries.

The grant is provided for under Article 17 bis of Provincial Law No. 4 of 21 April 2016, ‘Provincial Law on Sport 2016’.

The application for the grant and payment of the subsidy must relate to the investment made in the year preceding the submission of the application.
The grant is awarded within the limits set out in Commission Regulation (EU) No 2831/2023 of 13 December 2023 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to ‘de minimis’ aid.

From 1 April 2026, access to public grants and subsidies by beneficiaries registered in the Companies Register who own, manage or use land, buildings, plant, machinery, and industrial and commercial equipment as referred to in Article 2424, first paragraph, Assets section, item B-II, numbers 1), 2) and 3) of the Civil Code,used in the course of business, is subject to the taking out of an insurance policy covering damage caused to such assets by natural disasters and catastrophic events. The policy must be in force at the time the grant is awarded and must remain in force for the entire duration of the initiatives. In the event of failure to comply with the insurance obligation – implemented at provincial level by Provincial Executive Resolution No. 2114 of 19 December 2025 – the grant will be refused.

Businesses based in the province of Trento.
Self-employed persons based in the province of Trento.
Non-commercial organisations based in the province of Trento.

Applications must be submitted online via the “Stanza del cittadino” platform, which can be accessed by clicking the “Access the online service” button below.

1. A copy of the contract(s) entered into with the recipient(s) of the investment. The contract must relate to the year in which the investment was made and must have been entered into in that same year or in previous years in the case of a multi-year contract. Where a sporting season straddles two financial years, a single investment per year and per application shall be recognised for each sports association or club, relating either to the sporting season that is ending or to the sporting season that is beginning.
2. A copy of the sponsorship invoice(s), issued in the year preceding the submission of the application.
3. A copy of the payment(s) made using a payment method as referred to in Article 23 of Legislative Decree No. 241 of 9 July 1997 (methods other than cash), by 30 April of the year in which the application is submitted.
4. Certification of the incurrence of investment expenditure, issued by the chair of the board of statutory auditors of the applicant organisation, or by a statutory auditor registered in the register of statutory auditors, or by a professional registered in the register of chartered accountants and accounting experts or in the register of employment consultants, or by the head of the tax assistance centre.
5. Declaration by the chair of the committee, delegation or provincial section of the relevant sports federation, the relevant sports discipline or the sports promotion body, confirming the affiliation of the sports club(s) or association(s) benefiting from the investment, as well as the ongoing organisation of youth sports activities within the province.
6. A declaration in lieu of an affidavit by the grant beneficiary confirming that the revenue generated in Italy during the tax year preceding the application was less than 15 million euro. Revenue is determined in accordance with Article 85(1)(a) and (b) of Presidential Decree No. 917 of 22 December 1986, ‘Approval of the Consolidated Law on Income Tax’.

Applications for funding must be submittedbetween 1 and 31 May each year.

Once the grant decision has become enforceable, the grant shall be paid out.
