It is a contribution for the annual running costs of the provincial committees and delegations of the sports federations, sports promotion bodies and associated sports disciplines; for the direct organisation of sports events; for technical-organisational consultancy activities in favour of affiliated sports associations and clubs; for the performance, also through affiliated sports clubs, of specialised competitive activities.
The contribution is granted to the extent of 70% of the eligible expenditure and within the following limits
- amount made up of a fixed share (€7,000 for committees, €5,000 for sports bodies, €4,000 for delegations) + a share based on the number of affiliated sports associations and clubs (€100 for each affiliate) + a share based on the amount of eligible expenditure (3%)
- deficit as shown in the final balance sheet, less any contribution received the previous year if booked to the budget in question;
- resources made available.
If the available resources are less than the sum of the grantable contributions, these are reduced by an equal percentage for all beneficiaries.
The contribution is provided for in Article 37, Section 1 of Provincial Law No. 4 of 21 April 2016 'Provincial Sports Law 2016'.
It must refer to expenses for operations and activities incurred in the financial year preceding the submission of the application.

As from 1 April 2026, access to public grants and subsidies by beneficiaries who are registered in the companies' register and who own, operate or use land, buildings, plant, machinery, industrial and commercial equipment referred to in Article 2424, first paragraph, section Assets, item B-II, numbers 1), 2) and 3) of the Civil Code, used in the operation of the business, is subject to the stipulation of an insurance policy covering damages caused by natural disasters and catastrophic events to such assets. The policy must be in place at the time the grant is awarded and remain in place throughout the duration of the initiatives. In the event of failure to comply with the insurance obligation - implemented at provincial level by the Provincial Council Resolution No. 2114 of 19 December 2025 - denial of the incentive is envisaged.
