Grants 2024 for mitigation of the negative effects of the bark beetle

Public or private owners of land located in the Autonomous Province of Trento where forests contribute to the containment of rock falls, snow movements or other gravitative phenomena of a hydrogeological nature are eligible to apply. The minimum eligible area is 10,000^m2.

Eligible for aid are the costs for the execution of directional cuts, as defined in the notice, and the costs for the design and supervision of works of the same directional cuts (up to a maximum of 13% of the other eligible costs).

The aid takes the form of a contribution, equal to 100 % of the eligible costs, with a maximum unit limit of EUR 5,000.00 per hectare (ha) of area of the directional cutting areas.

The maximum aid that can be granted per individual directional cutting operation (i.e. per application) is EUR 60,000.00.

The following types of expenditure are not eligible: maintenance costs, afforestation costs, value added tax (VAT).

The application must be submitted to the Forestry Service of the Autonomous Province of Trento exclusively by email of the beneficiary to the certified email address: serv.foreste@pec.provincia.tn.it

Official forms duly signed by the beneficiary must be used to submit the application.

Interested parties must submit the following documentation to the Forestry Service, in the manner set out in the previous point, attached to the application form

- technical report highlighting the critical issues for which damage mitigation or restoration of damaged forest potential is necessary and describing the type, consistency and intensity of the planned interventions, as well as their possible time sequence

- 1:10,000 or 1:5,000 scale cartography with the zoning of the cutting areas. The digital .pdf format can be attached to the application with the PEC sending together with the corresponding .shp file package, including the digital styles used for the graphic dressing of the cartographic project;

- cutting plans drawn up or authorised by the competent District Forestry Office

- declaration from the competent District Forestry Office confirming the existing criticalities and the consistency of the proposed directional cuts with the objectives of this notice

- possible delegation of the owners of woodland areas falling within the area of directional cutting to the applicant. The delegation must include an explicit commitment to comply with the principles and obligations set out in this notice.
