Grant for the organisation of summer social and educational camps

From 1 to 30 April each year, applications may be submitted for funding to organise summer camps. Applications for the grant must be submitted exclusively by organisations eligible for the scheme upon completion of the activities and in any event no later than 30 September each year. By Provincial Council Resolution No. 247 of 20 February 2026 (amended by Provincial Council Resolution No. 967 of 25 June 2026), the criteria and procedures for the award of grants were approved.

Summer camps offering daytime activities, and residential camps or long-stay programmes involving residential activities, are eligible for provincial funding. The activities must be organised within the province for young people resident in the province of Trento who are of an age to attend nursery school or the first and second cycles of school education and training, and who are under the age of eighteen.

• Summer camps are defined as those offering daytime activities for at least 5 consecutive days a week (on a full-time or part-time basis, with a minimum of 4 hours per day), which may also include a maximum of two overnight stays during the week, with constant daytime supervision and care, held in a specific location for a stable group of participants, organised and run either collectively or by employing staff on a paid basis (employees, occasional self-employed workers, co-ordinated and continuous collaboration arrangements, or other similar forms provided for by law);
• These are holiday camps or permanent stays (such as campsites), which comprise activities carried out for at least 7 consecutive days and 6 consecutive nights per session, involving overnight accommodation, with a continuous provision of meals, accommodation, care and supervision, carried out in a specific location for a stable group of participants, organised and managed either through collective self-management or by employing staff on a paid basis (employees, occasional self-employed workers, coordinated and continuous collaboration arrangements, or other similar forms provided for by law).

The grant is awarded on the basis of the number of children actually present and is differentiated according to the type of activity offered, as specified below.

Summer camps: 

• €8.00 for each day of full-time attendance (8 hours);
• €4.00 for each day of part-time attendance (4 hours);
• €60.00 for each day of attendance for participants with a certified disability under Law No. 104 of 5 February 1992;

Summer camps or residential stays:

• €10.00 per day of attendance;
• €70.00 for each day of attendance for users with a disability certified in accordance with Law No. 104 of 5 February 1992.

Organisations, associations or other non-profit bodies that have their registered office or place of business in the province of Trento and that meet the specified requirements may apply for the grant for socio-educational stays.

Reports may be submitted by organisations already approved for the grant.

Procedure:

The procedure for eligibility and the payment of the grant is briefly outlined in the following steps:

1. The grant application, with stamp duty paid where applicable, must be submitted between 1 April and 30 April each year via the “Stanza del cittadino” digital platform, accessible via the section below entitled “Access the service”. Access to the web application must be gained by means of identification via SPID, CIE or CPS/CNS.
2. Following the submission of the application, within 60 days from the day after the deadline for submitting applications, the relevant office of the Agency for Social Cohesion shall, by its own decision, approve those applications deemed eligible for funding, notifying the applicants accordingly.
3. During the summer period, organisations shall carry out the planned activities at the venues and during the periods specified in the application and are required to complete: a daily attendance register for users and staff (in paper or electronic form) and, at the end of each shift, an attendance certificate signed by a parent or guardian (forms available in the section below entitled ‘Documents’).
   Important: Any changes regarding the venue and/or the period during which the activities are to take place, or an increase in the number of activity days, compared with what is stated in the application, must be notified in advance by the start date of the activity.
4. Those eligible for the grant must submit, upon completion of the activity and in any event by 30 September each year, the application for the grant via the “Stanza del cittadino” digital platform. 
5. The decision to award the grant is adopted by the relevant body within 80 days from the day following the reporting deadline. The decision specifies the amount to be paid to each organisation. Payment will be made in a single instalment once the decision becomes enforceable.
6. The competent body carries out periodic checks, including any on-site inspections at the premises where the activities are carried out, in order to verify that the activities are being carried out in accordance with the criteria.

A revenue stamp is required at the application stage but NOT at the reporting stage.
