Establishment and authorisation of credit companies

Establishment and authorisation for the establishment of credit institutions and companies, and authorisation for the commencement of operations.

Directors of newly-established banks of a regional character or existing companies based in the Province of Trento. All banks that meet the requirements of Article 2 of Presidential Decree No. 234 of 26 March 1977 are considered regional banks.

The directors submit an application to the Province for authorisation to carry on banking business or to commence operations, after the memorandum of association has been signed and before registration in the companies register. The authorisation is granted by the Province by means of a measure (Resolution of the Provincial Council or determination of the Service Director) on the basis of a binding opinion issued by the Bank of Italy.
