English and German language training courses for the adult population - ESF+

The Autonomous Province of Trento, by decision of the Provincial Council no. 1034 of 18 July 2025, approved the Notice for the preparation of a Catalogue of lifelong learning interventions for the adult population.

This intervention is financed under Priority 2 "Education and Training; Specific Objective g) of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) Programme 2021-2027 of the Autonomous Province of Trento, with co-financing from the European Union, the Italian State and the Autonomous Province of Trento.

The Catalogue offers the possibility to attend training courses for the development of one's language skills, choosing between an English language course or a German language course.

The courses offered are aimed at enabling the passage of language levels, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), i.e:

• from level A1 to A2 (Elementary)
• from level A2 to B1 (Pre-Intermediate or Low Intermediate)
• from level B1 to B2 (Post-Intermediate)
• from level B2 to C1 (Advanced)

There are no courses for reaching level A1 or C2.

The duration of each pathway is 80 hours.

Candidates may choose only one language and the location in which they wish to carry out the course, choosing the organisation of their choice from those listed in the table below. The language level will instead be determined through an assessment test of the language skills possessed by the implementing body.
If a user already holds a language certificate, he/she cannot attend a training course at the same level.

At the end of the B1, B2 and C1 courses, it is possible to take the language certification examination conducted by internationally accredited certifying bodies.

The initiative is open to persons

• resident in the province of Trento
• domiciled in the province of Trento for work reasons;
• who have completed compulsory education;
• who are not attending second cycle vocational education or training courses;
• who are not in retirement;
• with an incoming language knowledge/competence of at least A1 level.

People already enrolled in another training course financed by the ESF+ Programme with a coinciding timetable are not allowed to participate.

1. The application for the chosen training pathway is filled in online using the "Access to the service" link on this page and accessible through authentication with the SPID digital identity system or through CIE.
2. A test will have to be taken, by the implementing body, to ascertain the language level possessed.
   The implementing body will not carry out the language level test only if the user holds a language certificate dated no earlier than 01.01.2023, or a mock test dated no earlier than 30.06.2025.
3. Following the outcome of the language test, a ranking of participants in the training course will be drawn up by the implementing body on the basis of the criteria specified in the Notice.
4. Admitted candidates must formalise their participation in the course by filling in an online application form within 7 calendar days from the date of notification of the result, under penalty of forfeiture of the ranking.

Please note that the application must be submitted using the online procedure. The forms only allow you to view the fields that will be requested by the online application when it is being filled in,

The individual institutions will activate the application collection windows progressively. It is advisable to contact the implementing bodies directly for more information and/or to consult theIndividual Intervention Area periodically.

A compulsory co-participation fee of 250 euros is envisaged on the part of the participants towards the costs of the course.

The co-participation fee will be returned to the participant only in the event that he/she successfully passes both the mock test and the final certification examination (except for participants in A2 level courses, as language certification is not foreseen for this level).
