Employment services and how to register if you are a foreigner

If you are a foreign person and you are looking for work, you can contact the Employment Agency Job Centre, where you can access various services, which you will agree with an operator according to your needs, including

• Job orientation
  You will receive support in understanding what job you can do and how to look for it;
  
• Training courses
  You will be offered professional, computer and/or language courses on the Formazione X Te portal to improve your skills. Attention! To attend professional or computer courses you need a minimum A2 level of Italian; below the A2 level you can instead attend an Italian course;
  
• Practical job-search workshops
  In these workshops you will be taught how to write a CV, how to read job advertisements and apply, etc;
  
• Traineeships
  You can apply for an internship in a company to learn a profession or professional field;
  
• Supply-demand matching
  You can be recommended, if you meet the requirements, to companies which are looking for employees, or you can be accompanied in your search and application to the most suitable ads on the Trentino Lavoro portal;
  
• Job search in other European countries
  Through the EURES service you can be taught how to look for work in European countries (only if you have an EC long-term residence permit);
  
• Hiring incentives
  You can find out about economic benefits for employers who hire particular categories of unemployed people;
  
• Targeted employment
  You can receive targeted support if you are a person with a disability.

To access employment services, follow these steps

1. register at your nearest Job Centre
   To register, go to the Job Centre in person, or make an appointment first at 800.264.760.
   If you have applied for NASPI/Dis-coll or Assegno Unico Provinciale at a Patronato, they will make the appointment for you.
   
   Registration is compulsory if
   - you have applied for unemployment benefits (NASPI, dis-coll), Single Provincial Allowance (AUP), Inclusion Allowance (ADI), Training-to-Work Support (SFL) and others;
   - you want to apply for the seasonal project and/or Intervention 33D (socially useful work);
   - you want to convert your residence permit (study-awaiting employment, work-awaiting employment);
   - you want to have health exemption for the unemployed (not to pay for medical examinations).
   
   What you need to register
   - residence in an EU member state + Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland (if you have applied for asylum, residence is not needed);
   - live in the "reference area" of the Job Centre (you can only enrol at one Job Centre depending on where you live, search for your reference Job Centre here )
   - an identity document (e.g. identity card, passport, residence permit, name certificate, driving licence with photograph)
   - your tax code;
   - your valid residence permit for work or your pay slip.

   Warning! If you have applied for asylum, you must wait 60 days after your application (C3) before you can register.
   
2. Identify the most suitable job search services for you together with an operator/worker from the Job Centre
   After registration, a Job Centre worker will give you another appointment to choose a training course or other services and activities useful for your job search.
   
   At this appointment you will sign an agreement indicating the activities you have to do until you find a job.
   
   Attention! It is compulsory to attend appointments, otherwise there are different consequences depending on your situation: you may lose income support, health exemption, or the possibility of accessing courses. Remember that if you are absent, you must phone or email your Job Centre immediately and communicate the reason for your absence. Only in certain cases is absence justified (e.g. in case of illness or work with a regular contract).
