Elections to the Management Committees of nursery schools for the 2025–2028 term

Each nursery school has a Management Committee which remains in office for three years and is composed of representatives of: teaching staff, non-teaching staff, representatives of the local authority, and parents’ representatives (in equivalent nursery schools, also a representative of the relevant managing body).

During the three-year term, by-elections may be held to fill any vacancies.

Be a member of the group for which you intend to stand as a candidate and/or vote

Nursery school teachers, parents, non-teaching staff

• permanent teaching staff, and fixed-term teaching staff employed on a contract until the end of the academic year
• Permanent teaching staff provisionally assigned to a school are eligible to stand for election and to vote at that school, rather than at the school where they hold their permanent post
• permanent and fixed-term non-teaching staff assigned to posts provided for in the annual programme for nursery schools
• both parents of children who are duly enrolled and attending the school for which the elections are being held on the date the electoral rolls are drawn up, or those exercising parental responsibility over the child

An online application and e-voting system is used, which can be accessed via the Public Digital Identity System (SPID), the Electronic Identity Card (CIE) or via CPS/CNS (Provincial Services Card/National Services Card)

Once voting has closed, the Pedagogical Coordinator/Head of the Managing Body or their designated representative shall announce the elected candidates within 5 days, notifying each elected candidate by email. The election results are also published on the notice board at each nursery school for 15 days, no later than the fifth day following the close of voting.
