Credit support scheme for micro-enterprises

A scheme designed to facilitate, through a guarantee provided by the Province, the financing of micro-enterprises in Trentino – via the guarantee organisations Confidi Trentino Imprese and Cooperfidi – to help cover the costs of electricity and gas bills, and to support investment in renewable energy sources and energy-saving measures.

Some features of the loan:

• a loan with a maximum term of 96 months (8 years), repayable in quarterly instalments due on the 15th of January, April, July and October;
• a 12-month grace period, or until the first instalment is due;
• option to repay the loan early without incurring penalties;
• a fixed interest rate for the entire duration of the loan.

The maximum loan amount, depending on the committed power in kW/h, will be:

• €10,000 up to 10 kW/h (inclusive);
• €20,000 up to and including 20 kW/h;
• €25,000 up to 50 kW/h and above.

The minimum loan amount is €5,000.

Active micro-enterprises with their registered office or operational unit in Trentino – which are members of Confidi Trentino Imprese or Cooperfidi – and which, in 2019, had energy and gas bills accounting for 2 per cent or more of their total business costs. New businesses must self-declare that the cost of electricity and gas bills is equal to or exceeds 5 per cent of their total costs.

The following are excluded:

• businesses undergoing insolvency proceedings or voluntary liquidation;
• agricultural businesses;
• businesses in arrears and those with overdrafts exceeding 5% of the agreed limit for cash credits outstanding for more than 90 days, as per Central Credit Register data, on the date of application;
• businesses that have drawn down a loan under the Energy Protocol (see the Energy Protocol information sheet). Drawing down a loan from the guarantee scheme is incompatible with drawing down loans under the Energy Protocol.

Submission of applications

Applications for funding may be submitted directly to the relevant guaranteeing body by 31 December 2023, in accordance with the instructions provided by that body.
