The Autonomous Province of Trento intends to implement Article 48, paragraph 2, of the Provincial Law on Agriculture no. 4/2003, in order to support initiatives aimed at the recognition of Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) through the granting of aid for the preparation of PDO and PGI recognition applications submitted to the Ministry and the Autonomous Province of Trento, according to the methods described above. This support is aimed at enhancing the traditional and quality agri-food productions of the territory, promoting the identity, competitiveness and protection of local excellence, in compliance with the relevant European and national regulations and the objectives of the provincial programming.
Beneficiaries must have their registered office or place of business in the Province of Trento and only one grant application may be submitted per applicant.
The maximum expenditure eligible for support is Euro 50,000.00.
The beneficiaries of the contributions granted for the preparation of applications for the recognition of Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI) are the subjects indicated in art. 2, par. 1, letters d) and e) of Provincial Law 4/2003, the consortia for the protection of PDO, PGI, IGT, DOC and DOCG brands and the associations set up for the submission of applications for recognition of Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI). 4/2003, the consortia for the protection of the PDO, PGI, IGT, DOC and DOCG brands and the associations established for the submission of applications for the recognition of Protected Designations of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indications (PGI), in accordance with the provisions of the European legislation on geographical indications.
Applications for contributions, drawn up in accordance with the forms prepared by the Rural Development Policy Service, and available on the Province's institutional website, may be submitted electronically by e-mail to the following address

For the year 2026, applications may be submitted from the Monday following the date of approval of this measure until 30 June 2026.
For the subsequent years up to 2026, the Provincial Council may, by means of its own measures, if resources are available in the provincial budget, establish the deadlines for the submission of applications and any updates to these criteria.
The applicant may submit only one application.
Applications must contain
(a) the subject of the application
(b) the applicant's identification data
(c) the amount of the expenditure requested
d) IBAN of the dedicated current account;
The following documents must be attached to the application
- copy of the minutes of the deliberation of the competent body authorising the submission of the application for recognition of a new PDO or PGI
- report of the activities, studies and research carried out for the purpose of submitting the application;
- a copy of the application for PDO or PGI recognition submitted to the Ministry, if not already in the possession of PAT;
- an analytical list of expenses relating to the preparation and presentation of the application for recognition, already incurred and those budgeted;
- for expenses already incurred, at the time of submission of the application, a copy of the invoices and relevant proof of expenditure (bank account statement/statement of account); the proofs of payment must show the IBAN code indicated in the application for aid
- an indication of whether the VAT on the certification expenses constitutes an actual cost for the company;
- declaration in lieu of affidavit, issued pursuant to Articles 46 and 47 of Presidential Decree 445 of 28/12/2000, relating to the 'single undertaking' conditions for calculating the de minimis aid ceiling, approved by Determination of the Director-General of UMST Agriculture No 3534 of 09/04/2025
- a declaration in lieu of affidavit, issued in accordance with Presidential Decree 445 of 28/12/2000, by the legal representative certifying that the company has not benefited from other State aid in relation to eligible costs
- copy of the valid identification document of the legal representative if the grant application and the supporting declarations are not digitally signed.
The submitted applications are processed and financed, within the limits of the available financial resources, according to the chronological order of their submission.
The contribution is granted with determinations by the Director of the Rural Development Policy Service to be adopted within 90 days from the day following the submission of the application, in chronological order and until the available resources are exhausted.
The Rural Development Policy Service, on the basis of the analytical list of the expenditures indicated in the documentation attached to the application, in coherence with the foreseen control activity, determines the admitted expenditure and the relevant contribution granted, within the limit of the available financial resources.
Applications that cannot be funded due to the exhaustion of financial resources shall be rejected pursuant to Provincial Law LP 23/1992.
Prior to the adoption of the measure granting the contribution, the Service shall notify the beneficiary of the Unique Project Code (CUP), which shall be included in the electronic invoices in the appropriate field of the electronic document, where possible, in the supporting documents.
If the invoices and proofs of expenditure do not include the CUP or the CUP is incorrectly affixed, it is possible to promptly regularise the situation by following one of the methods indicated in the Deliberation of the GP no. 728 of 23 May 2024.
From the day following the submission of the application.
The Rural Development Policy Service, on the basis of the analytical list of the expenses indicated in the documentation attached to the application, in coherence with the foreseen control activity, determines the admitted expenditure and the relative contribution granted, within the limit of the available financial resources.
Applications that cannot be financed due to the exhaustion of financial resources shall be rejected in accordance with Provincial Law LP 23/1992.
