With the "Premio Trentino per la Ricerca - Giovani ricercatrici e ricercatori" (Trentino Prize for Research - Young researchers), the Autonomous Province of Trento intends to award prizes in recognition of particularly deserving young researchers who have been carrying out research activities for at least one year in organisations within the provincial research and innovation system or in national research organisations in the province.
The prizes will be awarded following the evaluation of the research activity, suitably described and documented by the candidate when submitting the application, the subject of which must be related to one or more of the fields envisaged by the three scientific-disciplinary panels of the European Research Council(ERC ), i.e:
- Physical sciences and engineering;
- Life sciences;
- Humanities and Social Sciences
The purpose of this call for proposals is to recognise and enhance the quality and scientific value of the research activity, the ability to translate the results obtained into innovation with an impact on the economy and society, and the ability to disseminate them.
The winners will be announced at the Wired Next Fest, the innovation festival organised by the Province together with the publisher Condè Nast, which will take place in Rovereto from 26 to 29 September 2024.
PURPOSE
This call for entries has the following purposes
- to recognise and valorise the excellence of the research activity carried out by deserving young researchers belonging to provincial research organisations or national research bodies present in the province, as well as to promote the growth of human capital in scientific research
- highlight the relevance of the impact of research carried out in Trentino and its spin-offs as a driver of social and economic development, particularly in the provincial territory;
- encourage young researchers to undertake initiatives in the field of innovation with the aim of bringing the world of research closer to businesses;
- encourage the dissemination of science also to a non-specialist public in order to reduce the distance between citizens and the world of research.
This call for proposals is activated pursuant to Article 17, paragraph 2 bis, of Provincial Law no. 14 of 2 August 2005 (Provincial Law on Research) and in accordance with the general lines of action outlined in the Multi-Year Research Programme for the 16th Legislature, approved by Resolution of the Provincial Council no. 2193 of 22 December 2020.
