Description
The driver qualification card (CQC) is required for those who professionally transport goods or persons.
To obtain the driver qualific ation card (CQC), it is necessary to attend a training course (ordinary of 280 hours or accelerated of 140 hours depending on the case) and pass a specific aptitude test.
The courses are organised by driving schools (authorised to prepare candidates for all driving licences), consortia of driving schools or authorised bodies (which have gained experience in the field of road transport training also within trade organisations).
The examination consists of a test that is conducted by computer, using a questionnaire extracted from a database prepared by the General Directorate for Motor Vehicles according to a random method. The candidate must answer, within ninety minutes, seventy questions, ticking the letter 'V' or 'F' depending on whether he considers that proposition to be true or false. Forty questions are taken from the topics of the common part, while the remaining thirty are taken from the topics of the specific part according to the type of qualification the candidate intends to obtain. The test is considered passed if the number of wrong answers is a maximum of seven.
The holder of the CQC qualification for the transport of persons (or goods) who intends to obtain the CQC qualification for the transport of goods (or persons) takes the test by means of a questionnaire with thirty questions taken from the subjects of the specific part. The candidate must answer the questionnaires within forty minutes. The test is deemed passed if the number of wrong answers is a maximum of three.
The certificate is valid for twelve months from the end date of the course. Please note that the application for the examinations must be submitted, by the candidate, within the period of validity of the certificate of completion of the propaedeutic course, which has been followed.
A candidate who has not passed the examination must submit a new application, accompanied by the relevant payments and attendance certificate, and take the new examination. At the candidate's request, a certificate of payment of 16 euros (payment of the stamp duty on the document proving that he or she passed the examination) is returned to him or her so that he or she can use it for subsequent applications, which may be submitted more than once as long as the certificate of attendance is valid.
Whenever the candidate is absent from the booked examination session, a new application must be submitted with the relevant documentation.
