Description
The C.A.P. is valid for five years and must in any case be renewed when the validity of the driving licence with which it is associated is confirmed.
A distinction must be made between two cases of C.A.P. (certificate of professional competence) renewal
- CPC type KA and KB associated with a higher driving licence: in this case the expiry date, which is the same as that of the licence, will not be indicated on the CPC, nor will a duplicate be issued.
- KA and KB CPCs associated with category A or B licences: if the CPC expires after the licence when the validity of the licence is confirmed, both the licence and the CPC must be confirmed at the same time by submitting a medical certificate attesting to possession of the requirements for the CPC; if the CPC expires before the licence, its validity must be confirmed independently of the licence: however, the user may, on request, also renew the licence in advance with the same certificate. In this case, a duplicate with the new expiry date is issued upon confirmation.
