C.A.P. Certificate of Professional Competence - Attainment

In order to obtain a certificate of professional competence (CAP), it is necessary to sit a special examination in the following categories
- KA, for driving motorbikes with a total mass of up to 1.3 t in public square service or for hire with driver
- KB, for driving taxis or passenger cars and motorbikes (over 1.3 t) in hire service with driver.

For obtaining the KB, the examination consists of a questionnaire of 20 multiple-choice questions. The candidate has 30 minutes and will be considered successful if he/she does not make more than 2 mistakes. Only one test may be taken and if the result is negative, the candidate must re-submit a new test; the medical certificate and proof of payment of stamp duty are returned if reusable.

Attention: the CQC qualification for the transport of persons includes in itself the KB type and KA type professional qualification certificates, limited to the categories of motorbikes that the licence held entitles the holder to drive. The holder of a CQC qualification for the carriage of passengers who also intends to apply for the issue of the KB and/or KA type professional certificate may submit a specific application, without having to take an examination (for information, send an e-mail to patenti@provincia.tn.it).

The PAGOPA codes associated with the "CAP Attainment" tariff are:

• T018 "Issue of professional qualification certificate" (AMBITO TRENTO);
• N019 "Driving licence practice exam" (AMBITO TRENTO).

• model TT 746 C;
• for holders of category A and B licences, a medical certificate on stamps with photograph issued by an authorised physician in accordance with the physical and mental requirements for the issue, revision and confirmation of validity of driving licences for vehicles in categories C, D and E. For holders of higher licences, a medical certificate is not required;
• proof of having successfully attended a first aid training course, also at a driving school
• a photocopy of the driving licence held for viewing;
• in the event that the person concerned cannot appear in person, a proxy form and valid identity documents in original or photocopy of the delegating person or delegate;
• non-EU citizens must present the original and valid residence permit or residence card or certified copy;
• receipt of payment made by PAGOPA (rate T018 and N019).
