Bonus reimbursement for commuters on the Brenner and Valsugana railway lines

Commuter users of the train service along the Brenner or Valsugana lines can obtain a form of compensation in the event of train delays/disruptions.

The compensation consists of a bonus discount on the purchase of a season ticket, defined according to a monitoring system on the reliability of train services.

The monitoring system calculates every month the reliability index of Trenitalia train services along the Brenner and Valsugana lines (including, for the latter line, also the train services run by Trentino Trasporti), which takes into account train delays and cancellations.

If these indices are exceeded, users can obtain a refund of €10.00, which can take the form of a discount on the purchase of the next season ticket for weekly/monthly subscribers, or in the form of a refund on current account in the case of renewal of annual/semi-monthly season tickets.

The reliability index limit for the Valsugana railway is 1.00 %.

The reliability index limit for the Brenner railway is 2.50 %.

To claim the bonus, you must

• have made at least 10 validations for the reference month
• submit the request by the end of the month following the month in which the overrun index is published

If, at the conclusion of the checks, it turns out that the season ticket holder has not made the 10 validations, he/she must return the sum of 10.00 Euro to a Trenitalia ticket office.

Workers and university students (not UniTN) who hold a provincial season ticket to use the train service along the Brenner or Valsugana line can apply for reimbursement.

Weekly or monthly season ticket

When the reliability indexes are higher than the established indexes, season ticket holders - at the time of renewal - must go to a Trenitalia ticket office with the completedAutodichiarazione bonus bonus autodeclarazione abbonamenti ferroviari mensili settimanali compilata, where they declare that they have made at least 10 journeys by season ticket (measurable through the card validations) in the month in which the index was exceeded.

The ticket office will issue a discounted weekly or monthly season ticket of EUR 10.00.

Six-month or annual subscription

When the reliability indexes are higher than the established indexes, season ticket holders must go to a Trenitalia ticket office with the completed Autodichiarazione bonus bonus autodichiarazione abbonamento ferroviari semestrali annuali (self-declaration for half-yearly or annual season tickets), where they declare that they have made at least 10 season ticket journeys in the month in which the index was exceeded.

The reimbursement will be made by crediting the indicated current account, following verification of the months of overrun relative to the subscription period and the number of journeys made for each month.

If the user does not wish to renew his annual/six-month subscription, he may obtain a maximum of 4 weekly subscriptions at a discount of 10.00 Euro each.

In the event that, following checks, the user has not made the 10 validations, he must return the sum of 10 euros at a Trenitalia ticket office
