Beekeeping experts

Article 12 of Provincial Law 2/2008 - "Beekeeping experts" - provides

- that the Province shall promote the training of experts in beekeeping and apiary management, also through the implementation of special training programmes

- that the Azienda Provinciale per i Servizi Sanitari can avail itself of beekeeping experts with qualification certificates, obtained following participation in the training programmes referred to above or at accredited institutes, for the implementation of health plans to control bee diseases.

With resolution no. 1285 of 11 August 2017, the Provincial Council of Trento approved the criteria for the recognition of beekeeping experts and the establishment of the provincial list of beekeeping experts.

Already trained and new beekeeping experts.

Already trained beekeeping experts

• attendance of a course for beekeeping experts or on bee diseases, documented with a certificate of attendance;
• have carried out technical assistance activities in the last three years within the framework of the action "technical assistance to companies" of the provincial beekeeping programme or in cooperation with the Provincial Health Service Agency
• attend annually at least 16 hours of refresher training on the basis of the available training offer;
• annually attend at least 12 hours of coordination of technical assistance activities.

New beekeeping experts

• Attendance of a training course of at least 32 hours with final examination; the course may also be attended over a two-year period; attendance of at least 80 % of the course hours is mandatory;
• having carried out beekeeping activities for at least four years, documented by beehive reports in accordance with current legislation, with at least 50 hives owned in total over the last four years
• after registration on the provincial list of beekeeping experts, annual attendance of refresher courses and coordination activities is required.

The interested party fills in the application form in its entirety, completes it byaffixing a revenue stamp and delivers it to the competent Agricultural Service.

The application may be submitted

directly, at the Technical and Agricultural Office of Montagna in Via Trener, 3 on the first floor,

by post, by registered mail with return receipt
by PEC, certified electronic mail to the address serv.agricoltura@pec.provincia.tn.it

The application is not subject to submission deadlines.

The Director of the Agriculture Service, competent in this matter, will establish by his own determination the Provincial List of Beekeeping Experts where the already trained experts who have submitted a regular application will be enrolled.
