Beekeeping, fish farming, animal husbandry
The Autonomous Province of Trento has extensive legislative and administrative powers in the areas of beekeeping, fish farming and zootechnics, as these areas fall within the sphere of agriculture and livestock and fish farming, which are the province's responsibility under the Special Statute.
The Province exercises a role of protection, promotion and support for these sectors, recognising their economic and environmental function.
For beekeeping, the Province intervenes with specific regulations, promotes the protection of biodiversity and beekeeping activities, and manages funding calls and contributions for business investments.
In the area of fish farming, competences include the implementation of initiatives for the improvement of the sector and the application of Community support instruments for aquaculture. For zootechnics, the Province carries out authorisation activities in the field of animal reproduction and supervisory activities in the animal production sector. Another objective in the zootechnical field is to rationalise the use of goods and equipment and to promote the quality and health of livestock farms, also through the provision of facilities in the implementation of provincial regulations and of the measures provided for by the Rural Development Plans.
