Description
In order to obtain a rifle licence for hunting use in the Province of Trento, it is necessary to sit the exam to obtain authorisation to hunt.
The requirements for admission to the examination and the procedures for holding the tests are governed by Provincial Council Resolution No 224 of 16 February 2015.
This examination consists of three tests; the first is a written test, the second is a practical test on the use of hunting weapons and the third is an oral test. The examination subjects, explicitly provided for by Law 24/91, are:
- notions of wildlife and hunting legislation
- notions of zoology applied to hunting
- notions of hunting weapons and their use;
- nature conservation and principles of safeguarding agricultural and forestry crops.
The examination commission is appointed directly by the Provincial Council, remains in office for five years and is composed of the following members
- an official from the wildlife office, as chairman
- an expert in zoology applied to hunting
- an expert in natural sciences;
- an expert in hunting weapons and ammunition and their use;
- two hunting experts appointed by the provincial wildlife committee;
- an employee of the wildlife office who acts as secretary.
