Accreditation of services for students with special educational needs

Accreditation allows public and private non-profit organisations to provide school inclusion services for students with special educational needs (BES) in the educational institutions of the Autonomous Province of Trento. The procedure is concluded within 60 days of the deadline for submitting applications and is managed by the Education Service in accordance with Provincial Law no. 23 of 30 November 1992. The outcome is formalised by a decision of the Director of the Service.

Duration of accreditation

For applications submitted in 2026 accreditation lasts for one year. Accreditations expiring in 2026 are extended by 12 months, or in any case until the new regulations are approved, with the obligation to present the annual declaration of permanence of requirements (Art. 11 DPP 8 May 2008, no. 17-124/Leg).

Register of accredited subjects

This is the list of subjects authorised to provide services for the school inclusion of students with BES. Enrolment in the register is a necessary requirement for the ordinary entrusting of services by schools.

Public and private not-for-profit entities that meet the following requirements may apply for accreditation

• provision in the articles of association or deed of association of the type of intervention for students with BES
• at least two years of experience in the sector
• non-profit organisation
• compliance with national and provincial labour and welfare regulations
• absence of insolvency proceedings (bankruptcy, liquidation, receivership, composition with creditors or equivalent)
• moral and reliability requirements of the directors
• presence of a technical-scientific staff with at least two years' experience in assisting students with BES

The application for BES accreditation must be completed, signed and sent to the Education Service from 1 to 31 May 2026, by one of the following methods:

• direct delivery to the Education Service (6th floor, Via Gilli 3, 38121 Trento)
• delivery to the decentralised counters of the Autonomous Province of Trento
• registered mail with recorded delivery to the following address:Provincia Autonoma di Trento - Servizio Istruzione, via Gilli 3, 38121 Trento

The application must be accompanied by

• copy of the articles of association and/or statutes in force
• documentation on the two-year experience
• documents showing any relations with the territorial network of BES services
• report on activities carried out
• overview of human resources
• substitute declaration for the purposes of anti-mafia notification (Legislative Decree 159/2011)
• substitutive declaration on moral requirements of administrators
