APIA - Provincial Archives of Agricultural Enterprises

The Provincial Archive of Agricultural Enterprises (APIA), hereafter referred to as the archive, is a tool for the identification and qualification of entities operating in agriculture, in order to achieve the objectives set by provincial legislation and programming, as well as by state and European Union regulations.

To entrepreneurs carrying out agricultural activities in the province of Trento.

The archive is divided into section one and section two.

Entrepreneurs, single or associated, who carry out agricultural activity and meet the following requirements may be registered in section one of the archive

a) they must be registered in the companies' register referred to in Article 8 of Law no. 580 of 29 December 1993 (Reorganisation of the chambers of commerce, industry, handicrafts and agriculture), in the special section of agricultural entrepreneurs or small entrepreneurs as direct cultivators

b) be registered with the National Social Security Institute (INPS) as an agricultural employer or worker

c) possess sufficient professional capacity

d) be engaged in farming as their principal occupation.

Within the first section, direct family farming enterprises are distinguished from other enterprises.

Individual or associated entrepreneurs carrying out agricultural activity who meet the following requirements are eligible for registration in section two of the register

a) they must be registered in the companies' register referred to in Article 8 of Law no. 580 of 29 December 1993 (Reorganisation of the chambers of commerce, industry, handicrafts and agriculture), in the special section of agricultural entrepreneurs or small entrepreneurs as direct farmers

(b) possess sufficient professional capacity

(c) devote at least 300 hours of work per year to agricultural activity.

Application for entry in the register

An application for entry in the register shall be submitted to the service responsible for the development of agricultural holdings, hereinafter referred to as the competent service.

By its Resolution No 815 of 21 April 2006, the Provincial Council approved the Regulations for the preparation, maintenance and management of the Provincial Archive of Agricultural Enterprises (A.P.I.A.) in implementation of Chapter II of Provincial Law No 11/2000, art. 9, and consequently also the forms required for registration, variation and cancellation in the Provincial Archive of Agricultural Enterprises.

These forms respond to the need to standardise the information references relating to companies with the other administrative procedures, with the aim of promoting administrative simplification and reducing the burden on users.

For registration with APIA it is necessary to have an updated (i.e. validated) farm dossier (i.e. validated). This is a mandatory pre-requisite for the activation of registration and variation procedures.

Using the contact details entered in the file, it will be possible to receive any communications following the submission of applications.

Interested parties must therefore, prior to the submission of an application or the communication of a business update, arrange for the establishment or updating of the business file at one of the Agricultural Assistance Centres (CAA) authorised by the Autonomous Province of Trento.
