Description
What is the Project?
Promoted by ENEA (National Agency for Energy Efficiency) and financed by the Ministry for the Environment and Energy Security, the project aims to:
- Map real consumption: Create an updated national database on wineries' technologies and consumption.
- Create a Practical Guide: Draw up a manual on energy efficiency with real cases and modern technological solutions.
In recent years, the energy landscape has changed dramatically. Since 2020, energy costs have almost doubled (40-60% increase).
For a wine cellar, producing one hectolitre of wine requires an average of up to 70 kWh, with more than half of the energy consumed by:
- Fermentation
- Refrigeration
Optimising these processes is not only an ethical choice, but a necessity to maintain high quality and remain competitive in the global market.
Why Participate? Advantages for your winery

How to participate

Note on Privacy: ENEA guarantees the utmost confidentiality. The data, initially necessary for the identification of the case studies, will subsequently be aggregated and rendered totally anonymous. No information will be traced back to the individual company in the final reports.
