Description
The Interreg Alpine Space Programme is a key programme and instrument of the European Union (EU) cohesion policy. It is financed through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and national contributions from its seven partner states. For 2021-2027, the programme has a budget of EUR 107 million ERDF.
The Interreg Alpine Space programme finances transnational cooperation projects from seven Alpine countries. It addresses common challenges and improves the quality of life of 88 million inhabitants in the Alpine region. The programme targets public authorities at national, regional and local level, higher education institutions, as well as enterprises, business support organisations, NGOs and associations.
The Interreg Alpine Space Programme supports projects that develop transnational solutions to transnational challenges in the Alpine region:
- By fostering cooperation between organisations that can address these challenges
- Co-financing cooperation projects up to 75% through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
Every seven years, the Interreg Alpine Space Programme redefines its objectives, based on the needs of the Alpine region and the political objectives of the European Union. Projects financed by the programme must contribute to their achievement. For the period 2021-2027 the priority objectives of the programme are:
Priority 1 - A green and climate resilient Alpine region
Priority 2 - A carbon-neutral and resource-conscious Alpine region
Priority 3 - Innovation and digitisation in support of a green Alpine region
Priority 4 - An Alpine region managed and developed cooperatively
The Interreg Alpine Space Programme recently launched a survey to find out what people know, perceive and expect from the European Cooperation Programme in the Alpine Space. The survey is open to all those who live and work in the Alpine region.
The contributions collected will help to create more inclusive and effective communication by ensuring that the EU's efforts in this region are better known and understood by their inhabitants.
The survey is conducted anonymously and available in English, French, German, Italian and Slovenian at the attached link. A participation prize is also up for grabs.
