Description
On 22 July, the European Commission published a call for proposals, allocating €7.4 million to support independent reporting on EU affairs in EU newsrooms.
As the need for a debate on the European public sphere remains urgent, the call supports media wishing to inform collectively on European affairs and give the citizens of Europe a cross-border perspective on current events.
Funding will be granted for 2-4 projects, which will start at the beginning of 2026 for a period of 24 months and will cover news production, news management and factual programming. The deadline for applications is 29 September.
This is the second call to support media poles, following the successful start in 2022 and the development of three media projects. This call for proposals is part of the multimedia actions, which fund the production and distribution of EU information, news and programmes for citizens from a European perspective.
