Description
This call has two application rounds and the last one closes on 28 September 2023 (second round) .
Applicants may submit a proposal even if they have already submitted it in the first round, but may only receive a grant under this call for proposals.
The objectives of the actions funded under this call are:
- To raise awareness among European citizens from as diverse an audience as possible about the democratic role and values of the EU, to make them understand the benefits the European Parliament offers, how the European Parliament influences our daily lives and why it is therefore important to vote by participating in the European Parliament. the next EE24, also in the context of the Together.eu community (offer democratic engagement).
- To support greater non-partisan civic engagement of European citizens and organisations from as diverse a range of groups as possible, while promoting the idea of the importance of voting, thus encouraging active involvement (including as promoters of change), with a focus on voter mobilisation in the run-up to the European election day(s), including in the context of the Together.eu community.
Proposals for actions to receive financial support under this call must be submitted in one of the following two categories of actions
- Civil society engagement actions (see point 2.2.1 of the Call).
- Engagement actions by change makers (see point 2.2.2 of the Call for Proposals).
The expected results of the actions financed under this call are:
- Build capacity and strategically interact with other civil society organisations (at national or local level) and active citizens (potential and existing change makers) to support and facilitate their engagement activities and provide them with information and tools to effectively spread the message in favour of democratic participation (through the Together.eu community) in light of the upcoming EE24.
- Raise awareness about the benefits of European parliamentary democracy, the powers the European Parliament has to influence our daily lives and why it is therefore important to vote in EE24. Actions should inform citizens why and how to participate in EE24, to promote civic education and to build an informed and engaged electorate (including through the Together.eu community).
- Enable organisations and active citizens (change makers) to increase participation in voting by further mobilising their networks and communities (through Together.eu), and support and facilitate their initiatives.
- Support civil society organisations, change agents and their networks and communities in the final voting phase (a few days before the EE24 and on European election day [1] ).
Overall, all actions should increase the number of citizens and organisations registering [2] on Together.eu and encourage their active participation in the Together.eu community.
[1] Election days are a key moment to communicate the European elections. The 'days' aspect refers to the fact that citizens go to the polls which represent the last opportunity to vote.
[2] "Sign up" indicates the process of first registration, i.e. the creation of a new account on the Together.eu platform.
